Winkle Picker is a travelling seafood and oyster caravan. We serve sustainable, fresh, day boat seafood, predominantly from the south west and the Gower Coast and sometimes beyond. The aesthetic of the caravan is very much in homage to the circus and fairground and she is my pride and joy. Winkle Picker has a street food menu, but for an event she can be whatever you wish her to be.
An oyster bar. A moules frites bar. A prawn cocktail bar. A crab bap bar. The opportunities are endless. I hold a personal licence so we can create delicious drinks to go with your seafood. Black velvets, bloody marys, artisan ciders, English sparkling and natural wines, champagne, again the list is endless.We can source drinks local to your event as we can seafood. Our aim is to create a one off experience just for you.
My name is Rachel , I have been a chef for nearly 20 years, I’ve been a butcher, I’ve cooked in celebrity homes, I’ve cooked on big old wooden traditional sailing boats on the West Coast of Scotland and beyond. I’ve worked in numerous restaurants and I host my supper club. Before becoming a chef, I was a stage manger and a props buyer in theatre, film and tv and I always aim to bring a sense of showtime and theatricality to any event that I run.
